The world generates 2.01 billion tonnes of waste annually constituting 11% of all global methane emissions. Project Amanat aims to curb the climatic impact of improper waste management by enterprising the lack of incentives for ethical disposal of waste. For this, recycling banks and the Zero Waste Citizen application are implemented in urban societies where to allow residents to deposit segregated waste while enabling them to accumulate and track their environmental points.Garbage cafes are also set up to facilitate the exchange of waste for complete meals. The wet waste collected is converted into manure, while the dry waste is recycled into innovative by-products. Amanat creates systemic change and promotes a zero-waste lifestyle while streamlining the efforts of 3 different communities, namely the waste pickers, domestic help workers and the unwaged slum dwellers to create a circular economy model.

The segregated wet waste deposited at the recycling banks gets composted into manure while the dry waste is sold to recycling operators for conversion into innovative by products including plastic furniture and dustbins, thereby generating incomes for the entrepreneurs. Garbage cafes are set up offering complete meals in exchange for segregated waste, while entrepreneurs are appointed for their management.
